Here is a good example of when you might need an environmental lawyer.
ELBERTA, ALABAMA
The tree tunnel is a dirt road with beautiful tress lining it and hanging over the road. The county has received funds from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for paving of approximately 1 mile of dirt roads southeast of Elberta. However, the paving to be done on Archie Road would have required that the trees be cut down.
A couple that lives on Archie Road began a social media campaign to save the trees and the county commission listened. County Engineer Cal Markert said it will cost the taxpayers of southeastern Baldwin County an extra $10,000 to $15,000 to save the trees but they acknowledged the wish of these taxpayers to leave the trees alone. The road will be paved and the trees will be saved. Power of the pen (or keyboard in this case).
