One man was killed and another two injured in a tragic accident occurring on emile outside of Foley on Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
Fredrick O. Barlow, aged forty-seven and of Foley, Alabama, was killed when his 1991 Pontiac Bonneville left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Investigators arrived pronouncing him dead on the scene; it has been determined that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Ellen Parker and Gene Easley, two passengers of the automobile, were also injured in the accident. Investigators determined that they too chose to cruise without the protection of seatbelts. They purportedly were ejected from the car upon impact. They were transported by helicopter to separate medical centers and are currently listed in critical condition.
The accident is still under investigation in terms of potential causes.
We at Ron Kim Law offer up our prayers and concerns for the dead and injured as well as for the family and friends of the aforementioned. We also wish to strongly encourage all drivers and passengers to always use seatbelts; it is far to often we deal with deaths which could have so easily been avoided.
