POLICE CHASE IN PRICHARD, ALABAMA RESULTS IN DEATH OF 20 YEAR OLD MOTHER
Anteesha Monique Erica Banks, 20, was killed instantly Sunday night on October 25, 2015 around 9:30 p.m. when Charles Edward Dennis ran into her car on Prichard Avenue near the intersection of Edison Street driving at a high rate of speed. Ms. Banks had her 6 month old baby with her. Fortunately the baby was protected by a child restraint seat but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Mr. Dennis was trying to get away from the Prichard Police after he had run through a 4-way stop sign at the intersection of Seminary Street and Clark Avenue at a very high rate of speed. It just so happened that Prichard Police were sitting at that very intersection Mr. Dennis sped through. As a result of Mr. Dennis blatant disregard for the stop sign, the police turned on their emergency lights and siren and attempted to get Mr. Dennis to pull over and stop his vehicle. Instead of pulling over, Mr. Dennis increased his speed. He made several turns until colliding with Ms. Banks vehicle. Then Mr. Dennis got out of his vehicle and proceeded to flee on foot. Police did catch up with him. He was arrested, booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail and has been charged with vehicular murder, possession of a stolen hand gun, possession of controlled substances, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident with injury. We send our prayers to the family of Monique Erica Banks and hope that her 6 month old baby is not injured.
