On Friday, June 19, 2011, a Mississippi motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after a collision occurring in Santa Rosa County, Florida.
Early into the evening, a thirty year old Samuel Whitmire of Stewart Mississippi was driving his Harley Davidson westbound in the left lane of U.S. Highway 98. Upon turning to the right lane, he reportedly struck the back of a 1998 Oldsmobile, owned and operated by Georgeanna Dudley, a seventy-nine year old resident of Navarre. The record states that Dudley was slowing down to enter the outside lane to exit the highway at precisely the same time that Whitmire was changing lanes. He was transported to Baptist Hospital.
