Rueben attempted to recreate for reporters the June 6th phone call which changed everything.
A group of high school students hailing from Texas were en route via bus to Orlando, Florida for a band trip. At approximately 12:30 in the A.M., the bus was approaching Mobile, Alabama. While some were nodding off, others soundly sleeping, a big rig jackknifed in front of the bus, precipitating a major collision. While the majority of injuries were minor, three of the teens were hospitalized.
Tractor trailers are notorious for instigating an inproportional number of accidents on the road. Drivers must always use extreme caution when driving near such large vehicles, as they bear very large blind spots.
